2025–2026 PUBLIC SCHOOL CHESS LEAGUE AGREEMENT

Imagine That Chess League provides NYC Public Schools with access to a citywide scholastic chess program that nurtures critical thinking, sportsmanship, and academic growth. Participating schools receive league membership for students, staff support, and access to tournaments and enrichment opportunities throughout the school year.

This Agreement is made effective on the date of signature below.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

By signing this agreement, your school site agrees to the following:

Chess League Benefits (“League Pass”)

Each enrolled school receives:

  • League Membership for at least 20 students 

    Weekly Instruction by Imagine That coaches, designed to prepare students for tournament play.

  • Free Entry to all Imagine That–hosted citywide and borough tournaments for registered students.

  • Coach Support for team preparation, analysis, and skill development.

  • Family Engagement: Parents/guardians receive updates, newsletters, and invitations to league-wide events.

  • Recognition & Awards: Certificates, medals, and trophies presented to outstanding student players and teams.

School Responsibilities

  • Designate one Chess League Liaison responsible for:

    • Managing student rosters and tournament registration.

    • Communicating with parents/guardians about events and league guidelines.

    • Coordinating practice space and ensuring equipment is available.

  • Support students’ regular attendance at practices and tournaments.

  • Encourage family participation and sharing of student achievements.

League Guidelines

  • “League Pass” covers free tournament entry for individual and team competitions (up to 20 students).

  • Schools may purchase additional passes for more students if desired.

  • League membership is not transferable between schools.

  • Tournament rules will follow Imagine That Chess League guidelines and US Chess Federation standards.

Payment Terms

  • Responsible for the full annual fee upon enrollment.

  • Purchase Order (PO) must be approved within 30 days of enrollment confirmation.

  • Payment must be made via certified PO or Bill.com (ACH, credit card, or online check).

  • Payment is not contingent on student attendance or participation.

  • Fees are non-refundable, regardless of participation.

In signing this agreement, you acknowledge your school’s participation in the Imagine That Public School Chess League and agree to the terms outlined above.
